Spring STEAM

Join us for an after school hands-on, outdoor STEAM adventure for children 8 to 12 years old! This program blends science, technology, engineering, art, and math with nature-based exploration to inspire curiosity, creativity, and environmental stewardship. Students will participate in engaging, seasonal activities. Each session includes a short interactive lesson followed by hands-on projects that students can take home, helping them connect learning to real-world conservation and sustainability.
The first session will focus on Patterns in Nature: Symmetry and Repetition. Nature isn’t random! Learn about bilateral, radial, and spiral symmetries that we can find in our forests.
Aligned with the Land Trust’s mission of conservation, advocacy, education, and recreation, this program encourages young learners to understand and protect local ecosystems, appreciate native plants and wildlife, and develop a lifelong connection to the outdoors. Through experiential learning and creative problem-solving, students will gain practical skills while discovering how they can play an active role in caring for the natural spaces that make North Alabama special.
