Members-Only Senior Saunters
Land Trust is pleased to offer a new series of hikes for our senior members, the “Sunday Saunters.” These hikes, led by Land Trust volunteer Lynne Weninegar, are designed for Land Trust members ages 60 and up to come out on a Sunday afternoon to a Land Trust preserve and enjoy a slow-paced hike. Lynne, a field botanist at Alabama A&M University, will make many stops to talk about the flora of different Land Trust preserves.
Participants should not expect to hike more than one mile during these events; however, please remember that most Land Trust trails are dirt, contain loose rocks and roots, and can be uneven in many places. Participants need to gauge whether they have the mobility and fitness to navigate these trails on foot before signing up for a hike.
This hike series is for Land Trust members; members are welcome to bring a guest to an event, and if the guest would like to continue attending, he or she is encouraged to become a member.
