Foraging Hike at Wade Mountain Nature Preserve
May 20 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Due to weather and trail conditions, this hike has been canceled. Please watch for a new date in June! (If you have already registered, please check your email for an update.)
(Easy / Around 2 hours / TBD, approximately 2 miles) Those of you who have hiked with forager Casey Lanier know what to expect for this hike: A meandering walk through part of the preserve, stopping regularly to talk about whatever “forage-worthy” plants the group comes across. If you’ve not hiked with Casey? Well, you’re in for a real treat (no pun intended). Springtime is fully here, and with it comes a new trove of plants to learn about. The exact route will be determined based on what there is to find. That said, expect a fair bit of walking. This hike is educational so expect frequent stops to talk and observe.
Hike Leader: Casey Lanier
Location: Wade Mountain Nature Preserve (Spragins Hollow Trailhead) – 10130 Spragins Hollow Road NW, Huntsville, AL 35810 – This preserve has multiple trailheads. Please be sure to come to the correct one.
