Lessons from the Paint Rock Valley: How an In-Depth Look at North Alabama’s Biodiversity Is Changing the Face of Conservation

Join award-winning author and conservationist Bill Finch alongside Alabama A&M wildlife researcher Patience Knight via Facebook Live this Thursday, October 15 at 6 PM for a discussion on North Alabama’s fascinating biodiversity and the groundbreaking work being done at the Paint Rock Forest Research Center. An effort comprised of the world’s top evolutionary and systems biologists, the Paint Rock Forest Research Center has been conducting intricate studies in the Paint Rock Valley that seek to determine what holds together forest communities, what species are more likely to survive and where, and how forests react to increased carbon and climate change. Find out what makes North Alabama such an unequaled location for this project and why conservation of these areas is so imperative for our community and beyond.
