Land Trust of North Alabama is pleased to announce that we have applied for renewal of accreditation with the Land Trust Accreditation Commission. A public comment period is now open

The land trust accreditation program recognizes land conservation organizations that meet national quality standards for protecting important natural places and working lands forever. The Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, conducts an extensive review of each applicant’s policies and programs.

“Accreditation is awarded to land trusts that meet the highest national standards for excellence in conservation and fiscal accountability for the lands they conserve.” says Marie Bostick, Land Trust of North Alabama Executive Director, “This is our way of ensuring the public that we demonstrate strong ethical practices and they can feel confidence in us and our work.”

The Commission invites public input and accepts signed, written comments on pending applications. Comments must relate to how Land Trust of North Alabama complies with national quality standards. These standards address the ethical and technical operation of a land trust. Click here for the full list of standards.
