Top 5 Ways You Can Preserve Nature’s Simple Treasures

December 6, 2023
Categories: ,

Your support is critical to enrich North Alabama’s quality of life and protect the natural spaces that allow people, plants, and animals to thrive! Here’s some of the best ways you can support the Land Trust’s mission.

1. MEMBERSHIP

Land Trust members are the heart of our organization and our primary funding source. Please join or renew your membership today to become a part of a community of individuals dedicated to expanding land conservation, outdoor recreation, and environmental education throughout North Alabama.

BONUS: If you are already a member, thank you! You can provide additional support each year by contributing during the giving season. This time of year is critical for the Land Trust, as well as other nonprofits, as one-third of annual giving occurs in the month of December. With an additional donation beyond your annual membership, you can increase your impact.

2. PLANNED GIVING

Leave a lasting gift of land preservation through a bequest or will, a life income gift, or a gift of special assets. Most legacy gifts offer tax benefits, have little or no current financial impact on you, and may result in the largest and most lasting one-time gift you ever make to the Land Trust.

3. HONOR, REMEMBER, CELEBRATE

Celebrate with the gift of a Land Trust membership or by making a donation in honor or memory. Naming opportunities are also available to publicly and permanently recognize someone about whom you care.

4. IRA DISTRIBUTIONS & STOCK GIFTS

By transferring your mandatory IRA distribution or a gift of stocks and securities directly to the Land Trust of North Alabama, you can preserve our region’s natural assets while receiving potential tax benefits.

5. DONOR ADVISED FUNDS

If you’ve created a Donor Advised Fund, you can contribute funds to the Land Trust at a time that is convenient for you.

No matter how you give, you’ll contribute to the health and happiness of our community by connecting people with nature! Questions? Contact Hallie Porter, Development Director, at hallie@landtrustnal.org or 256-534-5263.
