Winter Tree ID Hike with Jesse Akozbek

Take a relaxing stroll through the Bradford Creek Greenway and learn how to recognize trees in the wintertime when they have dropped their leaves! Though the task may seem difficult, your guide, Jesse Akozbek of Feral Foraging, will break everything down into approachable steps. This walk will teach you several common trees of North Alabama and open up a whole new world of details to observe as you walk through winter forests.
The content of this walk is accessible to people of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced learners! We will not cover a great distance during this event and will remain on mostly flat, paved ground.

Location: Bradford Creek Greenway (Heritage Elementary Trailhead) – 11775 County Line Rd, Madison, AL 35758
Directions: We’re meeting at the Bradford Creek Greenway trailhead at Heritage Elementary School. The trailhead is located on the east side of the school, away from the main parking lot.
