(Moderate / Around 2 hours / 2.1 miles) This hike is for the dogs! Bring your own pup or meet an adoptable dog from the Greater Huntsville Humane Society. GHHS will join us for a hike with some of their currently adoptable dogs.
Route: We’ll hike along Alum Hollow Trail to Alum Falls and Rock Shelter, two scenic spots on the preserve. The rock shelter served as a stopping point for native residents and travelers over this area’s human history. The trail is relatively easy, with the exception of a steep hill leading down to the waterfall at the half-way point.
Hike Leader: Kori Paull
Location: Green Mountain Nature Preserve – 13800 South Shawdee Road, Huntsville, AL 35803
In the event this hike has to be canceled due to weather or trail conditions, we will send a notification to the email address you use to register.
