Foraging Hike at Bethel Spring

March 23 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

(A bit more than moderately difficult / Around 3 hours / 2 miles or so)   Spring is here, and with it are a host of newly emerged plants for you to learn about.  Forager Casey Lanier has led outings at Bethel Spring during other times of the year, and it will be interesting to get his take on the early weeks of spring. He intends to take the group all the way to the waterfall.  The route is rocky and the trail is steep in places, so please wear appropriate footwear and be ready for a moderately difficult climb.

A FEW NOTES: This hike is educational, so if you’re looking for a walk with no long stops to talk, it’s probably not what you’re looking for.  The hike is scheduled to last 3 hours, but it may run long.  This hike around the preserve is not intended for collection or consumption of species.

Hike Leader: Casey Lanier

Location: Bethel Spring Nature Preserve – 2641 Cherry Tree Road, Gurley, AL 35748
