Foraging Hike at Hickory Cove

(Moderate / Around 2 hours, but maybe longer / 2 miles or so) Spring is heading rapidly toward summer, and the warming weather is bringing a host of newly emerged plants for you to learn about. Forager Casey Lanier will lead you through the Hickory Cove Nature Preserve on a route that will be determined the day of the event.

A FEW NOTES: This hike is educational, so if you’re looking for a walk with no long stops to talk, it’s probably not what you’re looking for. The hike is scheduled to last 2 hours, but it may run long. This hike around the preserve is not intended for collection or consumption of species.

Location: Hickory Cove Nature Preserve – 1500 Trailhead Main St, Huntsville, AL 35811
Directions: Coming from Huntsville, head east on Highway 72. At the intersection of Highway 72 and Moores Mill Road, turn right into the Trailhead community.Then turn right onto Trailhead Main Street. The greenway parking lot is located straight ahead at the end of the street.
