28th Annual Thanksgiving Day Hike

Join us for a Thanksgiving Day tradition! Get ready for your Thanksgiving feast by starting the morning off with a Monte Sano hike led by Land Trust volunteers and staff. We’ll start out at Bankhead Trailhead and work our way down the mountain to Three Caves on Alms House Trail. Please note this hike does not end at the starting location. You can arrange to leave a car at Three Caves Trailhead in order to carpool back to the starting location for a 2-mile hike. Or hike your way back to Bankhead Trailhead instead, making this a 4-mile hike.
Difficulty: Moderate
Length: (one-way) 2 miles/2.5 hours, (out and back) 4 miles, 5 hours
Starting Location: Monte Sano Nature Preserve (Bankhead Trailhead) – 2442 Bankhead Parkway, Huntsville, AL 35801
Ending Location: Monte Sano Nature Preserve (Three Caves Trailhead) – 901 Kennamer Dr SE, Huntsville, AL 35801
