Family Sensory Hike at Wade Mountain
January 2, 2025 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Spend an afternoon at Wade Mountain as we use our senses to explore the forests of northeast Alabama! Among other activities, we’ll investigate sound mapping, a family-friendly activity that is a technique to listen to your environment’s soundscape and discover more of the nature around you. In addition to our ears, we’ll look, touch, and smell as we explore the forest layers and discuss what we observe. We’ll also engage in a few hands-on activities to further our learning. Activities are geared for ages 6 to 11, but kids of all ages with an accompanying adult(s) are welcome.
Location: Wade Mountain Nature Preserve Spragins Hollow Trailhead: 10130 Spragins Hollow Rd NW, Huntsville, AL 35810
In the event this hike has to be canceled due to weather or trail conditions, we will send a notification to the email address you use to register.
