First Day Hike at Chapman Mountain Nature Preserve
January 1, 2025 @ 10:30 am - 3:30 pm
Happy New Year from the Land Trust of North Alabama! Start 2025 with some time out at Chapman Mountain Nature Preserve. Individuals and families are welcome to come out for a self-guided hike on any of our trails, and be sure to stop by our table for some cookies and hot cocoa. For those with smaller children or mobility issues, consider a hike on the Driskell and Chasco trails, which loop around our disc golf course and cover the flatter part of the preserve. If you’re up for more of a challenge, you can climb the slopes on the Terry and Bulldog trails. Make 2025 your year to get outside!
Location: Chapman Mountain Nature Preserve 1263 U.S Hwy 72 East Huntsville, AL 35811
Directions: Coming from Huntsville, cross Chapman Mountain and U-turn at Moores Mill Road. When safe, get into the merge lane on the right (plenty of time). When the silver guard rail ends, be ready to turn right onto the paved entrance. Drive through the gate and down the gravel road to the parking area at the bottom of the hill.
In the event that this hike has to be canceled due to weather, we will send a notification to the email address you use to register.
