Spring Guided Hike: Oak Park with David Young

Enjoy some green on St. Patrick’s Day with the Land Trust of North Alabama. This guided hike begins at Monte Sano Nature Preserve’s newest trailhead at Oak Park. Its construction has been a joint effort between volunteer Oak Park residents and the Land Trust. David Young will lead you from Oak Park to Raven Point’s waterfall, Dallas Branch’s drainage basin – a highlight of this area – and to view the shallow sea fossils on Bankhead Trail.

Directions: From I-565 East, take exit 20 towards Oakwood Avenue, turn right onto Oakwood Avenue; trailhead can be found at the far-left corner of the park.
