Pop-Up Hike: Wade Mountain Nature Preserve

(Moderate / 1.5 hours / 2.5 miles)  Wade Mountain Nature Preserve is one of those “well-kept secrets” that many people don’t seem to know about.  Come check out part of the east side of the preserve with Tim Gels, our Education Director.  He’ll be leading us on an out-and-back hike on the Devil’s Racetrack and Rock Wall Trails.  We will not be going all the way up to the racetrack itself, so this hike is appropriate for older elementary-age hikers.  As is the case with all of this week’s hikes, we’ll see the winter forest as a place that looks brown when you look at the big picture, but spectacular when you look at the details.  This preserve has two different trailheads – be sure to come to the correct one!
