Spring Guided Hike: Hike a Hound on Chapman Mountain with Mike Dalen

Bring your own pup or test hike a new family addition with Land Trust Board Member Mike Dalen and the Greater Huntsville Human Society at our newest preserve. GHHS will be onsite with some very loveable, adoptable dogs and you’ll have opportunity to meet them and head out on the trails. This is a great social opportunity for all dogs!
Address: 1263 U.S Hwy 72 East, Huntsville, AL 35811
Directions: Coming from Huntsville, cross Chapman mountain and u-turn at Moores Mill Rd. When safe, get into the merge lane on the right (plenty of time). When the silver guard rail ends, be ready to turn right onto the paved entrance. The black gate is the entrance to the property. Trucks can go down the hill but cars should stay at the top until improvements to the road have been made.

These FREE hikes offer natural beauty and exercise for the entire family but donations to help preserve green space are accepted! You don’t need fancy equipment! However, we do recommend:
long pants and comfortable shoes with good tread
- bottled water
- hiking sticks
- trail snacks
- and a camera to capture the experience
Dogs welcome, but must be on leads. In case of rain, hikes may be cancelled. Please verify cancellation here or on our Facebook Page.
