Guided Hike: Useful Plants and Mushrooms of Winter

(1.5 hours / Easy / 1 mile) Winter is not often associated with an abundance of wild plants and fungi to find in the wild, but there is still so much to find! Join local forager, Jesse Akozbek, to learn more about useful plants and mushrooms that can be found in the wild in Winter. All skill levels are welcome! Kids are free to join, but the content of the hike is geared towards adults. Please feel free to bring a camera, notepad and pencil, or any other tools you need to remember the information presented! The hike will be light, interspersed with information and ID demonstrations.
Location: Monte Sano Nature Preserve (Bankhead Trailhead) – 2442 Bankhead Parkway, Huntsville, AL 35801
Event Details: RESERVATION IS REQUIRED. Sign up at the link provided. Space is limited to ensure quality and safety. There is no waitlist. We intentionally overbook to account for cancellations but if spots become available we’ll reopen the registration link on this page. We have reduced capacity for all hikes to ensure a safe environment for all participants and face coverings are required when 6ft distancing is not possible. Please register by 5 PM on Friday before weekend hikes.
