Guided Hike: Impact of Non-Native Invasive on Monte Sano Ecology

(2 hours / Moderate / 2 miles) Non-native invasive plant species can impact the health and function of our native upland hardwood forests. Callie Schweitzer, USDA Forest Service Research Forester, will discuss the impact non-native invasive plant species are having on our forests and hikers will be able to see some examples of control methods in demonstration sites along the trail.
Location: Monte Sano Nature Preserve (Bankhead Trailhead) – 2442 Bankhead Parkway, Huntsville, AL 35801

We intentionally overbook to account for cancellations but if spots become available we’ll reopen the registration link on this page. We have reduced capacity for all hikes to ensure a safe environment for all participants and face coverings are required when 6ft distancing is not possible. Please register by 5 PM on Friday before weekend hikes.
