Hike the Land Trust Challenge: Green Mountain

Follow our series of guided hikes throughout the entire year as we cover all of the Land Trust’s public trails! We’ll start with the easiest routes and increase our difficulty and distance along the way.

(Moderate / 2 hours / approximately 2.7 miles) Due to the forecasted weather (the heat more than the thunderstorm possibility), we will only be hiking the trails on the plateau.  We will reschedule a hike with the remaining trails for the fall.  This hike is now rated moderate.  We’ll start at the Alum Hollow trailhead and take the Alum Hollow Trail to the East Plateau Trail.  We’ll take the East Plateau Trail to the West Plateau Trail, then walk it until we take the Stonefly Trail.  We’ll take that trail through its connector down to Alum Cave.  After relaxing a bit in the shade of the overhang, we’ll take the Alum Hollow Trail back to the Trailhead.
