Hike at Blevins Gap North
June 15 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
(Moderate/Around 1 hour/Around 1.1 miles) For Nature Photography Day, take a trail less traveled this morning and complete a small loop comprised of three trails–the Walsingham, Chittamwood, and Fanning Trails, to be specific. Begin at the Walsingham Connector Trailhead at the end of Walsingham Road SE. Warm up on the relatively easy, open trail until you reach Chittamwood Trail, where you’ll climb down a little over 100 feet over two-tenths of a mile. Chittamwood dead-ends at Fanning Trail, where you will take a left and climb two hundred feet back up to Walsingham and back to the trailhead. The route is relatively short, but you will get plenty of opportunities for beautiful photographs in nature.
Location: Blevins Gap Nature Preserve (Walsingham Trailhead) – 7855 Walsingham Rd SE, Huntsville, AL 35802
Directions: From Cecil Ashburn Drive, at the first traffic signal, turn left onto Donegal Drive SE. Proceed .4 miles to Walsingham Road SE and turn left. The trail entrance is located at the end of the road.
In the event this hike has to be canceled due to weather or trail conditions, we will send a notification to the email address you use to register.
