Tuesdays on the Trail: Early Birds at Chapman Mountain

Head outdoors on Tuesdays in June and July to discover our area’s unique biodiversity protected by Land Trust preserves!
The Expedition: The early bird gets the worm, so set your alarm and hear some happy birds! Come out to Chapman Mountain Nature Preserve for a Tuesday on the Trail that will reward you with beautiful bird song, in addition to some early-morning treats for our young bird lovers. If you haven’t yet visited the bird blind at Chapman Mountain, this will be the perfect opportunity to check out an environment specifically designed for our feathered friends.

We welcome you to learn about the breeding birds of Chapman Mountain. This hike is offered for those interested in learning about birds, so no experience needed. Some tips on how to identify birds by sight, and more importantly sound, while also learning about basic bird ecology and the importance of areas such as Chapman Mountain. Binoculars and cell phones (YES cell phones) encouraged.
Cost: FREE but only available for Land Trust members at the Trailblazer (Family) level or above. Not a Land Trust Member? Join today!
Reservations: Land Trust members at the Trailblazer (Family) level or above only. Reservations are required. Space is limited. Please register using parent/guardian’s information (name on your Land Trust membership) and select spots for the number of children only. Adults do not need to reserve a spot for themselves. Registered participants will receive an email with full details closer to the event. There are no waitlists for these events. If spaces become available, registration will reopen so please check back if you’re interested in attending.
Ages: 6-12 years. An accompanying adult is required for all programs.

What to Bring: We recommend closed toe shoes, long pants, bug spray, sunscreen, and water.
