Freshwater Biodiversity of the Tennessee River

February 1 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Land Trust of North Alabama is pleased to present a talk from Dr. Bernie Kuhajda of the Tennessee Aquarium. The Southeast has amazing aquatic biodiversity, with the Tennessee River system as the best of the best. We have an underwater rain forest right in our backyard! Many factors contribute to this global biodiversity hotspot, including diverse geology and the prehistoric rivers that existed before the Ice Age. The Tennessee Aquarium is dedicated to protecting and restoring aquatic habitats and the diverse species that call them home, from large rivers to headwater streams, springs, and caves. Please join us as Dr. Kuhajda explains more about what makes the Tennessee River system unique among ecosystems.
