The Nature Conservancy of Alabama’s Keel Mountain Preserve
3 hours / Difficult / 2.5 miles
Chet and Ruth Wright, avid hikers, nature bloggers, and Land Trust friends, will teach you all they know about hiking out at The Nature Conservancy in Alabama’s Keel Mountain Preserve. Climb up to Keel’s stunning waterfall while learning about safety tips, survival, recommended gear, and how to best respect the trails when adventuring.

2018 Fall Hike and Adventure Series
These FREE hikes offer natural beauty and exercise for the entire family but donations to help preserve green space are accepted! You don’t need fancy equipment! However, we do recommend:
- long pants and comfortable shoes with good tread
- bottled water
- hiking sticks
- trail snacks
- and a camera to capture the experience
Dogs welcome, but must be on leads. In case of rain, hikes may be cancelled. Please verify cancellation at landtrustnal.org or on the Land Trust of North Alabama Facebook Page (@landtrustnal).
