CANCELED: Nature Reimagined: Guided Hike at Chapman Mountain Nature Preserve
April 5 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Nature Reimagined | A Guided Hike & Creative Showcase is a two-session program that encourages high school juniors and seniors to create art inspired by one of the Land Trust’s trails, spaces, or history. The first session is designed to be a guided brainstorming hike where participants will learn about the Chapman Mountain Nature Preserve and about north Alabama’s unique environment.
An event like this will create an atmosphere that interests and engages the participants by allowing them to learn through each other’s creativity and expression. Students are invited to attend this hike and let the things they learn and the hike experience at Chapman inspire them to create art pieces that promote themes of wildlife conservation, communing with nature, and land history–all while learning from each other. Participants are encouraged to bring a notebook or sketchbook and writing/drawing implements and to take photos if desired. Prompts will be provided along the way to put participants in the mindset of observation and creative expression!
This hike is open to any high school junior or senior who lives within Madison County, regardless of school or district. Registration is required and limited to the first 30 participants. Students under 18 must submit with a registration signed by a parent/guardian. Students under 16 must also be accompanied to the hike and creative showcase by a parent/guardian.
