Teen Homeschool Hike at Wade Mountain

Join us for the monthly Teen Homeschool Hike at Wade Mountain Nature Preserve. We will start at Spragins Hollow Trailhead, passing through the woods and then going uphill to the top of the trail. Most of the elevation change is gradual, but a couple of small areas are moderately challenging for some people. The loop at the top of the trail, called the Devil’s Racetrack, features interesting rock formations and at times, beautiful wildflowers. Between the forested area and the more open area at the top of the trail, you will see two very different landscapes.
This hike is for teens, ages 12 – 17. A parent or guardian must accompany each teen to the preserve, and we ask that younger siblings not attend. Parents and guardians don’t have to hike. Be sure to dress in layers for the weather, wear hiking shoes, and bring a snack and water. We will stop along the trail for nature journaling or taking photos, so bring your favorite art supplies!
