A Land Trust Members-Only Event!
Get back to basics as you explore our conservation property on Limestone Creek and spend the weekend learning how to increase your comfort level and knowhow in the outdoors. Through both expert-led demonstrations and hands-on practice, you’ll have the opportunity to learn how to utilize natural resources to survive and thrive in the wild. This overnight course will cover fire building, shelter making, water purification methods, and tips for finding food outdoors. Through this immersive experience, you’ll leave with a greater sense of self-sufficiency and a deeper connection and appreciation for the natural world.
WILDERNESS GUIDES
Kate Gribbin – Kate’s path outdoors began during childhood, and she was blessed with nature mentors like her parents, grandparents, and older siblings. Kate followed her passion for the outdoors into adulthood where she earned a BS and MS degrees in Forestry from Mississippi State University. She is SOLO Wilderness Medicine, Wilderness First Responder certified and is committed to making the outdoors more welcoming and accessible to everyone.
Travis Badger – Travis grew up in the woods of Maine where he learned outdoor skills such as fire building, shelter building, hunting, and gathering from his grandfather and father who were avid outdoorsmen. He greatly enjoys the outdoors and finds serenity in it with all it has to offer for both survival and peace of mind. Travis is a Maliseet and a proud member of the Oromocto First Nation and has taught survival skills professionally for six years.
