Over the Rainbow Hike at Rainbow Mountain

(Moderate / 2-2.5 hours / ~2.5 miles) Are you ready for a hike over the Rainbow? Please join members of Madison Greenways and Trails for a hike covering several of Rainbow Mountain’s newer and newly reworked trails. This hike will begin at the new Kensington Drive trailhead, follow Rainbolt Trail to Wild Trail, then down the newly renovated Spring Trail (where sets of steps have been added to make the descent easier). At the bottom of Spring Trail, turn north and go back up Rainbow Loop Trail and stop by Balance Rock. Finally turn back south on Rainbolt Trail to end where you began. We hope that on time change weekend you can get out and enjoy the extra hour of sunshine!
Note: This preserve has multiple trailheads; please be sure to come to the right one!
