Kids’ Hike with Tim Gels on Rainbow Mountain

There’s a lot to learn from exploring the outdoors! Bring the kids out for an educational nature hike led by Madison County Schools STEM Coach Tim Gels. We’ll discuss the plants and animals that call Rainbow Mountain home. Bring a sack lunch and end the hike with lunch in the pavilion! (2 hours / Easy to Moderate / 1.5 miles)
Location: Rainbow Mountain Nature Preserve – 230 Stoneway Trail, Madison, AL 35758
These FREE hikes offer natural beauty and exercise for the entire family but donations to help preserve green space are accepted! You don’t need fancy equipment! However, we do recommend:
- long pants and comfortable shoes with good tread
- bottled water
- hiking sticks
- trail snacks
- and a camera to capture the experience
Dogs welcome, but must be on leads. In case of rain, hikes may be cancelled. Please verify cancellation here or on our Facebook Page or website.
