Teen Homeschool Hike at Chapman Mountain

Join us for the monthly Homeschool Teen Hike at Chapman Mountain Nature Preserve. This group stops during the hike to sketch, take pictures, or just appreciate the scenery, so bring a snack and a sketchpad/nature journal or camera. The hike is for teens, ages 12 – 17. A parent or guardian must accompany each teen to the preserve. This homeschool hike will be taking place at the same time as our Homeschool Day at Chapman Mountain, so there will be activities set up at the pavilion. Be sure to dress in layers for the weather, wear hiking shoes, and bring a snack and water.

Location: Chapman Mountain Nature Preserve – 1263 U.S Hwy 72 East, Huntsville, AL 35811

Directions: Coming from Huntsville, cross Chapman Mountain on Hwy 72 and U-turn at Moores Mill Road. When safe, get into the merge lane on the right (plenty of time). When the silver guard rail ends, be ready to turn right onto the paved entrance. Drive through the gate and down the gravel road to the parking area at the bottom of the hill.
